Our u14 footballers were unlucky to lose the Limerick Co. U14 Football final v Abbeyfeale on a score of 2-4 to 2-7 on April 9th. The Castletroy boys started well, dominating possession all over the pitch but found it difficult to make their dominance count on the scoreboard against a strong wind. Abbeyfeale led 1-4 to 0-0 at half time and added two quick points after the break. Our boys kept their heads and roared back into the game with goals from Sean O’Kane and Dion Lynch and 2 points from Adam Foley. Just as it looked like being our day Abbeyfeale hit for the crucial winning goal on the break and tagged on a point soon after. Despite this the Castletroy lads threw everything at them in the dying minutes and Conor Nicholas had a great goal chance but was hauled down before he could shoot and the final whistle brought an end to a brave Castletroy display.
