 Get Going Get Rowing

Schools indoor Rowing Results

A total of 98 students from Castletroy College had an amazing day of racing, participating, team work and having fun at the Inaugural Limerick Indoor Rowing blitz in UL on March 1st 2017

We were so proud of all the 1st yr and 2nd yr students who took part in the Get Going Get Rowing schools programme as part of their Physical Education class for the last number of weeks and many students got to compete for their school for the first time .Each team had 5 students and had to row 2,000m between them as a relay team (200m each student twice) . Huge congrats to the three senior teams who gave an exhibition on how to row and showed great skill and team work and gritted out fantastic performances.

A huge thank you to Rowing Ireland ( Ger Hayes and  Michelle Carpenter) and the great team at Limerick Sports Partnership for giving the students this amazing opportunity and to our Principal Mr Flanagan and the PE dept on taking up on the initiative .
