Castletroy College

Transition Year

The aim of our Transition Year Programme in Castletroy College is to afford students opportunities to discover and develop their individual gifts and strengths, to become more independent and to experience a year where the emphasis will be on cultivating individual responsibility for study and self-directed work.

The programme also aims to encourage the development of thinking, caring, articulate and self-confident young people.

Students will be helped to discover individual talents, aptitudes and abilities, understand their own educational needs and develop those skills and competences necessary to cope successfully with their particular stage of development.

Details of the work experience dates for Transition Year students 2019-2020 are detailed below.

An Insurance letter and information pack will be distributed to students for their employers one week before work experience commences.

Week 1: Monday 25th November 2019 - Friday 29th November 2019.

Week 2: Monday 27th January 2020 - Friday 31st January 2020. (This will coincide with the ski trip.)

Week 3: Monday 4th May 2020 (Bank Holiday) - Friday 8th May 2020
