Important Notices

Pitch Development

The three pitches are now in use for both training and matches.  Parents who wish to attend matches either during the week or on Saturdays are asked to park their cars outside the school and enter the pitch via the tennis courts.

Changing Rooms

Temporary changing rooms are being rented at present as we do not have sufficient funds to build a permanent structure.  Fundraising efforts are ongoing to achieve our goal of building changing rooms as soon as possible.

School Teams

The costs associated with team sports are substantial and each year we ask parents whose child plays a team sport to contribute €120 to cover the cost of bus hire, affiliation fees, competitions fees etc.  This cost is waivered in the case of parents who have contributed to the voluntary contribution scheme.  A letter in relation to this matter will issue shortly.

Fundraising Initiatives

This year the school proposes to hold two principal fundraising initiatives:

  • A fashion show in November
  • A fun run for students in April

N.B.    We will also hold a “Feis Rince” on Sunday, 26th September and we will be bag packing on 23rd December and 24th December in Dunnes Stores, Childers Road.

Parents Association AGM

The AGM of Castletroy College Parents Association will take place on Monday, 27th September.  A further notice will issue shortly.

Well Done Grainne !

Grainne Murphy was all smiles when she came to collect her leaving certificate results. She has much to celebrate and a bright future ahead. She was pleased with her leaving certificate results but Mr.Wallace congratulated her not only on those results but also on her outstanding achievements at the European Long Course Championships in Budapest.

The school supports students who strive for excellence in whatever field they choose. Grainne is a wonderful success story and it was a delight to have her bring her silver in the 1,500m freestyle to school to share in her success.

Congratulations Grainne!

Kukri Rugby Sponsorship

Pictured with the new school playing pitches in the background are Martin Wallace, Principal. James Rael , Irish Schools Player and School Captain and Graham O’Sullivan, Marketing Manger (Munster) of Kukri Ireland.

Kukri are the company that supply the school with our PE Gear and School Jacket. They also supply playing kit for many of the schools other sporting teams. Kukri have kindly sponsored sets of post pads and flag poles for the pitches. It will make such a difference for our students, teachers and parents to have this facility available to the school from September 2010.
