Castletroy College Athletics Team displayed great talent to take the overall team trophy at the GloHealth All Ireland Track @ Field Championships in Tullamore on Saturday 30th May 2015. There were stunning performances all round and Ciara Neville broke the course record for the 100m intermediate indeed Ciara’s time also beat the senior record as well. In total we brought home 19 gold medals and 2 bronze. Congratulations to Jenna Bromell, Ciara Neville, Chloe Tobin, Ellie Nolan, Bronagh Kelly, Emma Doyle & Kate Cosgrave. Huge gratitude and many thanks also to coach Noelle Morrissey.
On Saturday 16th may 10 athletes from Castletroy College travelled to CIT to compete in the Munster Schools Track and Field Championship. It was a great day for all athletes involved.
Jenna Bromell won gold in the senior girls 400m. Ciara Neville won double gold in the Intermediate 100m and 200m. Chloe Tobin won gold in the Intermediate 300m hurdles and silver in the 80m hurdles. The junior girls relay made up of Rachel Hosey, Lizzie Donovan, Ellen Regan-Magnier and Annie Russell ran a great race. The Intermediate girls relay made up of Ellie Nolan, Chloe Tobin, Bronagh Kelly, Ciara Neville and Kate Cosgrave won gold and broke the championship record. Emma Doyle took bronze in the Intermediate steeplechase.
The day was a great achievement for all athletes and a just reward for the hard work put in by all. We are especially lucky to have the time and assistance of respected coach Ms. Noelle Morrissey who trains our school team every Wednesday. The very best of luck to all in the All Ireland finals.
On the 2/3/2015 the athletics team travelled to Nenagh Indoor Arena to compete in the Munster Schools Indoor Games. Our athletes had a very enjoyable day competing in a variety of events. They also enjoyed some real success. Ciara Neville, a national and international star, took first in the Intermediate 60m Hurdles. Chloe Tobin, who is also an outstanding athlete, took second in the same race. Other successes were enjoyed by Mark Bromell and Anna Burke who took gold in the Shot Putt and bronze in the Intermediate 600m respectively. Two of our relay teams took silver medals. Our Junior girls: Annie Russell, Orla Gallagher , Laura Nash and Ellen Regan Magner took silver as did our Intermediate girls: Kate Cosgrave, Bronagh Kelly, Grace Donovan and Chloe Tobin.

Congratulations to the 20 students who represented Castletroy College at the Munster Schools Swimming Gala in UL on December 7th .The overall results were :
- Bronagh Le Gear 5th yr came 1st in the 100m butterfly,
- Shona Hickey 3rd year was 1st in 100m freestyle and got a P.B., and 4th in the 100m backcrawl
- Rory Mc Evoy 5th yr was 1st in 100m backcrawl and 1st in 200IM
- Sarah Carey 3rd yr was 4th in 100 butterfly
- Girls Senior relay came 1st in the freestyle and 2nd in the IM Relay – Bronnagh Le Gear ,Nancy Edmead ,Brodie Edmead, Sinead O Halloran
- Girls Junior relay came 2nd in the freestyle – Iseult O Connail ,Eve Scully, Kate Gaffney ,Shannon Smith

Castletroy College Athletics have had a great year in the North Munsters Schools 2014.
We qualified for the minor junior and intermediate school relays. Emma Doyle qualified in her mile race, Rachel Hosey in the minor 800s, Jenna Bromell in the senior 400s, Chloe Tobin in the intermediate sprint hurdles and 100m and Ciara Neville in her junior sprint hurdles and 100m sprint and Anna Burke for 800 meters. Congratulations to all the athletes who qualified. Well done to everybody who participated all year in the Wednesday training sessions in Univeristy of Limerick.
