Munster Schools Track and Field Championship

by joeshortt

On Saturday 16th may 10 athletes from Castletroy College travelled to CIT to compete in the Munster Schools Track and Field Championship. It was a great day for all athletes involved.

Jenna Bromell won gold in the senior girls 400m. Ciara Neville won double gold in the Intermediate 100m and 200m. Chloe Tobin won gold in the Intermediate 300m hurdles and silver in the 80m hurdles. The junior girls relay made up of Rachel Hosey, Lizzie Donovan, Ellen Regan-Magnier and Annie Russell ran a great race. The Intermediate girls relay made up of Ellie Nolan, Chloe Tobin, Bronagh Kelly, Ciara Neville and Kate Cosgrave won gold and broke the championship record.  Emma Doyle took bronze in the Intermediate steeplechase.

The day was a great achievement for all athletes and a just reward for the hard work put in by all.  We are especially lucky to have the time and assistance of respected coach Ms. Noelle Morrissey who trains our school team every Wednesday.  The very best of luck to all in the All Ireland finals.
