On Friday 16th December 2016, students from 1st year and Transition Year (TY) along with their teacher Ms. Delaney travelled to the Limerick Milk Market to take part in the Student Enterprise Christmas Market. The Milk Market, in partnership with the Local Enterprise Office (LEO) Limerick and a local company WizzKids.ie organised the event. The event was sponsored by MAST, the Markets Alive Support Team and Permanent TSB, with prizes being awarded for Best Innovation, Best Student Business Team and Best Student Display on the day. There was a choir singing carols, so the atmosphere was great and it was an excellent opportunity for us to get in front of a real audience and sell our products.
Four Mini-Companies from Castletroy College took part;
King Rings: Ciarán Fitzgerald & Joe Kelly
Survival Rescue: Finlay Robertson & Adam Flahive
Jack’s Sweet Cakes: Jack Moloney
Student Discount Deals: James Kemmy, Colin Foley & Sarah Murphy
More than 40 Mini-Companies set up by students from secondary schools in Limerick City & County took part in the Enterprise Market.
Castletroy College won three prizes on the day for Best Innovation (Survival Rescue & Student Discount Deals) and Best Student Display (Jack’s Sweet Cakes) – winning a trophy and a total of €700. It was a fantastic day out for us and congratulations to all who participated. Many thanks to our teachers Ms. Delaney and Ms. McGrath for all their help in preparing us for this event.
