On Friday 1st October, Castletroy senior hurlers started their County Championship campaign against Doon C.B.S. The game finished in a draw 3-10 to 2-13.

Castletroy trailed by 5 points at half time playing with a strong wind at their backs. Doon had the momentum and looked good to go on and win the game, however Castle-troy showed true character with a fine second half display from Dan Morrissey, Liam O’Rourke, Gearoid Hegarty, Luke Murphy and Cathal Ryan. A brilliant goal from Kevin Mulcahy gave Castletroy another chance to progress.

Congratulations to our U-15 footballers on an outstanding performance to beat the highly fancied Rochestown (Cork) on Wednesday 6th October on a score line of 3-8 to 2-5.

Our first year hurlers had a good competitive workout on Thursday 7th October, competing in a Limerick schools blitz. They started well by beating Doon C.B.S., however they were beaten by a stronger side from Ard Scoil Rís and Newport.

Well done also to the senior football team who took on Ab-bey C.B.S. Tipperary on Wednesday 13th October.

Congratulations to the senior hurlers who had a great win over Doon C.B.S. in the replay of the Limerick Colleges. They now advance to play Newport in the quarter final.
